Starts off as a cool morning, Jenny Picks me up from my house and we head off.  We meet up with Susannah and Bernard and car pooled out to Chilliwack to climb Elk Mountain.  The dogs are so excited it takes a few minutes to get them calmed down for the drive.

The day starts off overcast but quickly clears up.  It is tolerable in the shade but smoking hot in the sun. 

The hike starts off lush and green

And quickly changes to more of a wooded setting.

Again we are not travelling fast enough for the dogs.  Koko and Tika wait patiently for us.

We found a frog on the trail.  He is a little hard to see – but he is there!

Along parts of the trail it changes back to the lush green, these parts are closer to the edge where the sun has more access.

Part way up – over halfway is my guess – is a nice view point.  It is in the hot sun, so I should have put my hat on, but I didn’t.  I paid for this later. 00000150

Ahhh… We made it!! It is bright and sunny.  We stopped and took some pictures, had a snack and put on some sunscreen. 00000161 00000162

At one point I lost Koko.  The smart dog had gone off to find some shade.  He did come when I called him.

As we headed back down, at the same view point we saw someone hand gliding. 00000170

We are tired and exhausted, reach the road, and took a picture of where I thought we were…. 00000171
