So here we are in August, and I actually meant to start this in April, so we will back track a little.

The last few years I had some health issues and some scares along with a lot of medical testing.  We won't go into the details, but it is the start of the story.  In November 2012, the doctor gave me the all clear on the issues most likely to cause major problems and I decided now was the time to take my life and health back into my hands.

I signed up for the 10km Vancouver Sun Run that happens in April, started planning to hike the Historic Chilkoot Trail with friends and started seeing a Naturopath.

First up the Sun Run. Training was 3 days a week at a fairly progressive pace.  At the start I couldn't run 1 minute straight. After months of training and with lots of help from the Chiropractor, I was able to run 40 minutes straight.

In the end I decided that I needed regular walking breaks to drink water while running outside (easy to drink while running on a treadmill, outside was a different story).  So I decided that running 10 minutes - walk a few strides and have a drink - and run some more, seemed like a good plan.

Thus begins the posts - I will make catch up posts for the summer, then try to be more current!
